Cleaning iron oxide from irrigation pipes
We know BoreSaver Ultra C works incredibly will on iron related bacteria and iron oxides but getting the treatment solution to where it needs to go can be tricky. Here is an example from a local government park where the irb was severe and causing costly repairs as well as pump destruction. The team mixed up a 5% solution of BoreSaver Ultra C in water in several wheely bins. We then removed the last sprinkler on each lateral and installed a riser. Then we started the pump and filled each lateral until it was visible in the riser. Worked very well and didn’t require more than equipment we had in the workshop. These pipes only had about 2 lt per metre of volume so the wheely bins were fine for this application.
